East And Southeast Asia Community Conservation Network
We want to build a system to protect and nurture ecosystem services with diverse biodiversity financing solutions.

CURRENT PROGRESS

  • Villages
In the past years, we helped to establish $22,319 of rotating funds for the 2 villages located on the China-Lao border to develop sustainable livelihoods against IWT with an increase of $1,512 per family every year.
  • Communities
In Myanmar, the 27 communities increased their incomes by 17% on average from $1127.45 to $1319.1 per year. In Indonesia, the mangrove communities increased their income by 49% ($3,396) per year due to the empowerment of women groups.
  • $
The community that started to use solar power in Indonesia saved $1,776 per family without diesel fuel and was more flexible to use electricity.

It is estimated that the financing gap for biodiversity conservation is as high as USD 598-824 billion per year by 2023. The traditional development-oriented economic model has ignored the value of ecosystem services and failed to meet sustainability. Thus, we hope to establish a new development model that aims to build a system to protect and nurture ecosystem services with diverse biodiversity financing solutions.
